SMC Compound (Sheet Molding Compound) is a high-performance composite material used in compression molding for manufacturing components of various sizes and complex shapes. It provides excellent mechanical strength, thermal stability, flame resistance, and chemical resistance. Manufactured using polymer resin, fillers, glass fiber reinforcement, and performance additives, SMC Compound ensures consistent quality and long-term durability across industrial applications.
SMC Compound is widely used across multiple industries where high strength, corrosion resistance, and electrical insulation are required.
The manufacturing process begins by continuously depositing a blend of resin, fillers, additives, and catalysts onto a carrier film. Chopped glass fibers are then added before another resin-coated film is layered on top. The combined layers pass through compacting rollers to create a homogeneous sheet, which is folded, stored under controlled conditions, and matured until the required viscosity is achieved for compression molding.
